This draft is for the current website only. Operator details, actual information-handling practices and legal review must be completed before public launch. It is not a certification of compliance.
Safety comes before reputation
Violence, abuse, coercive control, sexual exploitation, financial pressure and spiritual intimidation are not acceptable. A person’s leadership role, generosity or religious language must never shield harmful conduct from scrutiny.
What exists now
This website offers resources and referral links. It does not operate an assigned mentoring service, counselling practice, supervised community forum or emergency response team. Future one-to-one or group services require an approved safeguarding framework, training, role boundaries and appropriate screening before they begin.
Consent and boundaries
- Ask before praying with someone, sharing their story or introducing them to another person.
- Do not pressure anyone for money, private disclosures, religious participation or access to their home.
- Do not promise secrecy where safety or legal obligations may require disclosure.
- Respect a person’s decision to decline contact or choose another service.
- Do not interpret forgiveness as a requirement to return to danger.
Adults and younger visitors
Our structured pathways are designed for adults 18+. We are not offering a children’s ministry or private support service for minors. A younger visitor needing help should contact an appropriate youth service or trusted safe adult; emergency help remains available regardless of age.
Raise a concern
For a non-urgent concern about this project, email support@mensmissionaustralia.org with “Safeguarding concern” in the subject. Describe the issue briefly and avoid unnecessary identifying or sensitive information. This inbox is not continuously monitored and cannot promise a confidential investigation or immediate response.
If the concern involves the person operating this inbox, or contacting the mission feels unsafe, use relevant police, regulators or independent specialist services directly. You do not need the mission’s permission to report harm. For immediate danger call 000.
Before services expand
An independent escalation contact, incident-handling process, recordkeeping rules, response responsibilities and partner assessment criteria must be established. Publishing this page alone does not mean those systems are already operating. A future church directory must distinguish public listing information from a verified partnership and must not label a church “safe” solely because it appears in a directory.
