Is this about you?
I’m angry at everyone. What do I do next? →Separate the feeling from what he does
A man can feel angry without having permission to frighten or hurt people. Try: “I can hear how frustrated you are. I won’t help you threaten them.” You can acknowledge pain without agreeing with his version of every event.
Avoid feeding the anger with insults, revenge ideas or messages you would not say to the other person. Being loyal does not require joining harmful behaviour.
Do not argue through escalation
If he is shouting or becoming threatening, stop trying to settle the original issue. Keep your own safety in view. You can say: “I’m stopping this conversation. We can speak another time if it is safe.”
Do not block his exit, restrain him or put yourself between people using violence. Move to safety and call 000 when there is immediate danger. Nobody owes him an audience while being intimidated.
Return to a specific action
At a calm, safe time, talk about conduct you observed: “Yesterday you shouted at the staff member.” Ask what he will do differently rather than inviting another account of why everyone else is the problem.
Offer to help him contact MensLine on 1300 789 978 or his GP. If the behaviour includes control, threats or harm at home, use specialist family-violence support. Anger management alone does not address every form of abuse.
Make accountability more than an apology
A useful next step may be arranging support, respecting a boundary or ending hostile messages. You do not need to collect evidence that he is now a good man or persuade others to trust him.
Do not ask someone he has hurt to comfort him or accept an apology. For optional reflection, read James 1:19–20. Listening and restraint need to appear in conduct, not just in the words spoken after an outburst.
